One Word, Both Tracks.

A sample word from Spelling Bee Prep, and an analogy built on the same root from Vocabulary & Verbal Reasoning.
Neither records an answer.

Spelling Bee Prep: a sample word

Sample Preview
  1. Step 1Hear it

Say it with us: kruh-NOL-uh-jee, with the stress on the second syllable.

  2. Step 2Understand it

Noun. The order in which events happened, or an account that puts events in that order.

Origin: Greek khronos, “time,” and -logia, “an account of.”

In a sentence: Her report laid out the chronology of the first moon landing, from launch to splashdown.

  3. Step 3Spell it

Write it down, then check: chronology

The /k/ sound at the start is spelled ch, as in many words from Greek: chorus, character, chronic. The root chron- means “time” in its whole family:

    • chronic
    • chronicle
    • synchronize
    • chronometer
    • anachronism

Vocabulary & Verbal Reasoning: an analogy

Sample Preview

Read it as: chronometer is to time as thermometer is to what?

  • Aweather
  • Btemperature
  • Cmercury
  • Dseason
Reveal the Answer

B, temperature. A chronometer measures time, and a thermometer measures temperature: an instrument and what it measures.

Mercury is something a thermometer may contain, not what it measures. Spotting the relationship first, before looking at the choices, is a habit the planned track is designed to build.

One word, two separate checks.

Knowing what a word means doesn’t show that you can spell it, and spelling it doesn’t show that you can use it. The planned product shares word knowledge across both tracks, so roots and origins learned in one help in the other, while it tracks spelling mastery and vocabulary mastery separately.

Sample Preview: static examples of the planned experience. They don’t record answers or track progress, and no official word list or competition question is used.

Two Planned Tracks

One Product.
Two Tracks.

Choose the track your competition calls for, or use both.
Everything you learn about a word counts in each.

Spelling Bee Prep

Planned Track

For spellers preparing for school, regional, and national bees, including the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

  • Spelling from audio and pronunciation
  • Word origins and the roots that travel with them
  • Spelling patterns, the rules behind them, and the exceptions
  • Words chosen for what you’re ready to learn next

Vocabulary & Verbal Reasoning

Planned Track

For vocabulary competitors, including WordMasters Challenge and UIL contestants, and for learners studying for school.

  • Meaning and usage in context
  • Word relationships: synonyms, antonyms, and families
  • Analogies, and the reasoning that solves them
  • Prefixes, suffixes, and roots that unlock new words

How It Will Work

Practice That Follows What You Need Next.

The planned product is built on the AccelaStudy AI adaptive learning engine.
Here is what that is designed to mean on an ordinary practice day.

  1. Start Where You Are

A short set of words shows what you can already spell and define, so practice doesn’t start at the beginning of a list.

  2. Practice What’s Next

Sessions focus on the words, patterns, and roots you’re ready to learn, not the ones you already know cold.

  3. Learn From Every Miss

A misspelling points to the pattern behind it, like ch spelling /k/ in words from Greek, so one fix helps with many words.

  4. Review Before It Fades

Words you’ve learned come back for review at the right time, so they’re still there when you need them.

Who It’s For

For Spellers and the Adults Who Help Them.

Students

Practice on your own schedule, with words chosen for what you need to learn next and explanations that make patterns stick.

Parents and Guardians

A focused way for your speller to practice between bees, without you having to quiz from a list every night.

Language-Arts Teachers and Librarians

A resource for students who want to go deeper into roots, origins, and word relationships than class time allows.

Bee Coordinators and Coaches

Each student’s practice is designed to adapt on its own, so your time can go to stage practice and encouragement. Team and classroom options have not been announced.

FAQ

Questions, Answered.

What Is AccelaStudy AI Spelling & Vocabulary?
One planned product with two tracks: Spelling Bee Prep and Vocabulary & Verbal Reasoning. It is coming soon and is not available yet.
Is It One Product or Two?
One. Both tracks are in the same product. Word knowledge is shared between them, so a root you learn in one helps in the other, while spelling and vocabulary mastery are tracked separately, because knowing what a word means doesn’t show that you can spell it.
Which Competitions Is It For?
The spelling track is planned for spellers preparing for bees such as the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The vocabulary track is planned for students preparing for the WordMasters Challenge and UIL Spelling & Vocabulary, and for anyone building vocabulary for school.
Do You Use Official Word Lists?
No. We don’t copy official word lists, study guides, or competition questions, and nothing here is presented as official. The planned product teaches the patterns, origins, and meanings that help with words you haven’t seen before.
Is This an Official Scripps, WordMasters, or UIL Product?
No. AccelaStudy AI Spelling & Vocabulary is an independent product of Renkara Media Group, Inc. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The E.W. Scripps Company, WordMasters, the University Interscholastic League, or any other competition organizer.
When Will It Be Available?
It’s coming soon. We haven’t announced a date. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when it opens.
How Much Will It Cost?
At launch, $39 a year or $4.99 a month, per learner. An annual plan covers 12 months and is billed once. You’ll be able to choose Spelling & Vocabulary on its own, or all four competition products in AccelaStudy AI All Competitions for $79 a year or $9.99 a month.
Is It Included in All Competitions?
Yes. AccelaStudy AI Spelling & Vocabulary is planned to be included in AccelaStudy AI All Competitions, which gives one learner access to all four competition products: Spelling & Vocabulary, Academic Bowl, Science Competitions, and Competition Math.
Who Should Join the Waitlist?
Parents, guardians, teachers, coaches, and adult learners. We ask only for an adult’s email address and your consent to a launch email, and we don’t ask for any information about students.
